|
Disasters, whether natural or man-made, pose significant challenges to healthcare systems, requiring swift and coordinated responses to effectively manage mass casualties and limited resources. in this context, artificial intelligence (ai) has emerged as a transformative tool capable of revolutionizing disaster preparedness and trauma care by offering innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and resilience. this review examines the various applications of ai in forecasting disaster events, optimizing resource allocation, facilitating real-time monitoring, and improving communication among all stakeholders involved.the influence of ai on trauma care is equally significant, with advanced technologies enhancing patient triage, diagnostics, and surgical assistance, particularly in high-pressure situations. the successful integration of ai into disaster response and trauma systems necessitates a robust infrastructure, interoperability across diverse platforms, and targeted training for responders and healthcare professionals. furthermore, ethical considerations such as data privacy, algorithmic bias, and equitable access are crucial to ensuring that ai-driven solutions are implemented responsibly and inclusively.this review also explores future directions for ai, including the development of sophisticated predictive models, autonomous systems for high-risk tasks, immersive training programs utilizing virtual and augmented reality, and global collaboration aimed at standardizing ai tools and practices. by leveraging the potential of ai, we can enhance the precision and adaptability of disaster preparedness and trauma care, ultimately saving lives and mitigating the long-term impacts of crises. this article underscores the urgent need for interdisciplinary research, investment, and international cooperation to fully realize ai's transformative potential in these critical fields.
