چکیده    Background objective: candida albicans is a typical species in genitourinary and gastrointestinal tracts of healthy individuals but can cause vaginal diseases in women. this study was conducted  to evaluate the correlation of some blood parameters with vulvovaginal candidiasis in symptomatic women.materials methods: sixty-two vulvovaginal samples were collected for the detection of the candidiasis from symptomatic women attending the gynecological clinics in dyala city using direct microscopy, fungal culture , and complete blood count (cbc). among 62 vulvovaginal swab samples, 28 (45.1%) showed positive candida infection.results: the highest occurrence of vulvovaginal candidiasis with the percentage prevalence of (67.6%) was among women who gave birth naturally. most cases (60.5%) were among women who did not undergo any surgical operations. also, 96.2% of cases were found among women consuming a lot of sugar in their diet. the highest rate of vvc (89%) was found in women who do not suffer from any other diseases. the majority (92.8%) of positive cases showed a normal wbc level with a normal lymphocyte level in 78.5% of cases. mpv was normal in 96.4% of cases. mcv decreased to 53.5% and was normal in 46.4% of cases, while mch decreased to 57.1% and was normal in 42.8%. mchc level was normal in 92.8% of cases.conclusion: high prevalence of vvc among women with a history of natural childbirth and high sugar intake suggest these as risk factors. hematological parameters were predominantly normal (wbc, lymphocytes, granulocytes), but a significant proportion showed reductions in (mcv, mch), which may reflect underlying nutritional variations among females and not directly related to severity of infection.
