   effects of placental pathology patterns on obstetric complications in covid-19 pregnant women

چکیده    Background & objective: the purpose of this study was to investigate the obstetric complications of covid-19 and its relationship with placental pathology in women referred to kausar hospital in urmia. materials & methods: this case-control study was conducted with the aim of determining the obstetric complications of covid-19 and its relationship with placental pathology in women referred to kausar hospital in urmia. patients with more than 20 weeks of pregnancy with covid-19 based on a positive pcr test or lung involvement in support of covid-19 in a ct scan, who visited the hospital from the beginning of october to the end of march 2021, were examined. finally, the obtained information was analyzed by spss version 22 software. results: the mean variables of gestational age, apgar in minute one, apgar in minute five, and birth weight of the baby were not the same between two groups of pregnant women with coronavirus and without pregnancy complications, and this difference was statistically significant. also, the variable of type of delivery was not the same between two groups of pregnant mothers with and without pregnancy complications, and it was statistically significant. the frequency distribution of syncytial knot variables in the placenta was not the same in two groups of pregnant mothers with and without coronavirus, and it was statistically significant. conclusion: infection with covid-19 during pregnancy is often associated with an increased risk of pregnancy complications such as premature birth and low birth weight due to the effect on placental perfusion and hypoxia.
