همکاری بین دانشگاه و صنعت ، به طور فزاینده‌ای اهمیت پیدا کرده است، زیرا می‌تواند منافع متقابلی را برای همۀ طرف‌های درگیر و به طور کلی برای جامعه، ایجاد کند. اکنون همکاری دانشگاه و صنعت (u_i) تشدید شده و بنابراین توجه فزاینده‌ای از جانب محققان و سیاست مداران به خود جلب کرده است. ابتکارات دولتی و تغییرات در چارچوب نهادی می تواند همکاری را تسهیل کند. لذا این پژوهش با هدف: «مروری بر نظریات و الگوهای تعامل دانشگاه و صنعت» صورت گرفته است. شواهد تجربی حاکی از آن است که در طول تعامل(u_i) ، دانش از طریق کانالهای چند گانه‌ای جریان دارد. آنها شامل: تبادل نتایج تحقیقات دانشگاهی مدون در قالب انتشارات، مجوزها و اختراعات و نیزتحقیق و توسعه اولیه و کاربردی، پروژه‌ها، نشست‌ها و کنفرانس‌ها، پویایی دانشجو، فارغ التحصیل و محقق، مشاوره و آموزش، نظارت مشترک پایان نامه‌های درجه پایانی و تماس های غیر رسمی می باشند. علاوه بر این، استارت‌آپ‌های آکادمیک به طور فزاینده‌ای به عنوان کانال انتقال اهمیت پیدا کرده‌اند.

cooperation between universities and industry is becoming increasingly important, because this can create reciprocal bene?ts for all parties involved and for society in general. from the1980s, university–industry (u–i) cooperation has intensi?ed and therefore received growing attention from researchers, policy-makers and practitioners. government initiatives and changes in the institutional framework have facilitated cooperation.so, this research has aimed to” a review of theories and models from university-industry collaboration”. the empirical evidence suggests that during u–i interaction, knowledge ?ows through multiple channels. they comprise the exchange of codi?ed academic research results in the form of publications, licensing and patents and basic and applied r&d projects, meetings and conferences, student, graduate and researcher mobility, consultancy and training, joint supervision of ?nal degree theses and informal contacts academic start-ups are becoming increasingly important as a transfer channel.
