چکیده

Excess water production is a critical problem that reduces the wells' economic life and leads to environmental effects. preformed particle gels (ppgs) have been used widely to improve reservoir sweep efficiency and control water production during water injection in the mature oil fields. the ppgs is cost-effective, environmentally friendly and robust gel and can perform in harsh conditions such as high temperatures and formation salinity. ppg is able to reduce the permeability difference of fractures with different openings. ppg is prepared and swelled at the surface, then injected to the well. some of the problems of the in-situ gelation systems, such as lack of control over the gelation time, gelling uncertainty due to shear degradation, chromatographic fractionation or change of gallant compositions, and dilution by formation water are not observed in this method. successful ppg applications in oilfields require appropriate well selection. in this study, we aim to investigate the criteria's of the suitable wells for ppg injection for one of iran's oil fields which is a carbonated reservoir with thick heterogeneous pay zones. we analyse the integrity between the produce and injection wells and the conductivity of the different layers (fracture/channel) using the reservoir simulation software, and then the suitable well selected as candidate well for ppg injection
