   effectiveness of vocabulary learning assisted by mobile phones: a review study

چکیده    The ongoing enhancements in technology have made it inevitable to utilize it in learning processes especially in the field of language learning. the mobile learning methodologies have made new ways to help learners in learning a second language. one of the most crucial challenges that learners will confront during the learning of a second language is knowing the meaning of words in order to understand the massage behind a sentence. significant research has been conducted on the progression of mobile technologies to facilitate vocabulary learning. this paper reviewed some of the studies conducted in different settings on the impact of mall on vocabulary learning. i investigated some of the recently published papers on this subject and hoping that it would have academic suggestions for future researchers. i also attempted to select studies from different contexts, i.e., school students and adult learners. ten studies were selected in this matter. the results of the studies showed that mobile phone can be considered as a great educational instrument in learning a second language. some existing gaps and ways to improve futures researches are mentioned.
