   the effectiveness of floor time therapy on english language vocabulary enhancement among iranian children with high-functioning autism

چکیده    The main aim of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of floor time therapy on english language vocabulary enhancement among iranian children with high-functioning autism. it was a quasi-experimental with control, experimental group and pretest, posttest and delayed posttest, statistical population was all autistic children in gonbad kavous among whom 24 high-functioning autistic children, ranging 8-12 years old were selected through convenience sampling and randomly assigned into two groups i.e., experimental and control ones. the experimental group received 12 weekly 60-minute sessions based on the floor time therapy while the control group followed 12 weekly 60-minute sessions based on the flashcard learning as a conventional way of vocabulary enhancement approach. data were analyzed using one-way anova analysis of variance. the findings showed that there was a significant difference between the control i.e. a group learner whose learning was based on flash card conventional learning and the experimental groups i.e. those ones who learned english through floor time trophy in their english language vocabulary enhancement. since floor time therapy was effective in english vocabulary enhancement among high-functioning autistic efl learners, hence this approach can be suggested as an innovative teaching approach aimed at boosting linguistic and communicative competence among autistic children.
