   the impact of e-portfolio assessment on efl learners’ engagement modes and speaking skills

چکیده    The emergence of technology has entitled the administration of e-portfolio in students speaking performances to accumulate and store their artifacts and accompaniments online. with the execution of technology, e-portfolio tends to be incorporated into flipped classrooms. the preceding research, nevertheless, failed to contemplate the implementation of this consolidation, particularly in teaching speaking skills. consequently, it is leading to the absence of enough related literature on the current topic. this research, hence, aspires to inspect the impact of e-portfolio in online classrooms on students’ speaking performance and investigate the participants learning engagement and compare higher and lower-level students to examine whether there is a difference between their performance or not. an explanatory sequential mixed-method approach consisting of speaking test and interview methods was used for the present study. the result showed a significant effect of e-portfolio in flipped classrooms on students’ speaking skills. furthermore, students showed active behavioral, cognitive, and affective engagement. additionally, lower-level students showed a greater amount of engagement and improvement.
