   the effect of collaborative assessment on iranian intermediate efl learners’ resilience

چکیده    The inherent communicative nature of foreign language learning can make collaborative learning methods very beneficial in the language classroom. the purpose of the current study was to examine the impact of collaborative assessment on iranian efl learners’ resilience. utilizing a mixed methods research design, 50 intermediate learners (25 male and 25 female) were selected through convenience sampling to participate in this experimental study. 25 subjects were in the treatment group, and 25 subjects were in the control group. both experimental and control groups were administered resilience questionnaire at both pretest and posttest stages. moreover, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 15 subjects from experimental group. furthermore, during the study observation was done by the researcher. an independent samples t-test was utilized to investigate the impact of collaborative assessment on the learners’ resilience. the results showed that the experimental group outperformed the control group and there was a statistically significant difference in the groups’ resilience. interestingly, the outcomes of content analysis, utilizing descriptive statistics of the interview data and observation, indicated the success of collaborative assessment in enhancing the learners’ resilience. further study is recommended to explore different methods that could promote students’ resilience.
