چکیده    The current study intended to investigate the contribution of attitude as an important individual difference on efl productive skills through online instruction. based on the result of the opt, a total sample of about 114 iranian male and female efl pre-intermediate-level were selected and divided into experimental and control groups. later, they took pretests of ielts speaking and writing tests. in the control group, the new lessons were taught through the traditional in–person instruction. in the experimental group the new lessons were taught online. at the end of the experiment, both groups took the posttests of ielts speaking and writing tests and also the attitude questionnaire was distributed among the participants. it was found that iranian efl learners' attitude toward online teaching was mostly positive but it didn’t play a significant role in boosting their speaking and writing achievement and the participants in the traditional face to face classroom outperformed those in the online class. the findings can be inspirational for efl instructors and material developers due to the great extent of positive attitudes displayed by iranian efl learners, to take attitude and also online instruction into consideration in order to improve their learners' l2 learning in general and l2 productive skills in particular.
