چکیده    Reactor appears to be the heart of the petrochemical industry. one of the main factors affects its operation is catalyst. in this regard, catalyst deactivation has been a major problem leading to economic decline of the process. hence, it must be investigated in terms of design, regeneration, and lifetime extension. modeling deactivation trends provides valuable information during catalyst lifetime, amongst others, type of deactivation mechanisms, besides mimicking the duration. it also offers usage as an element of a control toolbox. this article classifies the deactivation trends of catalyst during fischer-tropsch process. moreover, models developed to date, have been compared. finally, the models applied to some case studies
