   three-dimensional simulation of waste gases flow inside a double-walled flare chimney: effects of canopy angle

چکیده    The use of solar chimney power plants (scpp)1 to produce clean and environmentally friendly energy has received much attention in recent decades. however, the flared flue gas power plant (fcpp)2 is a new technology for generating electricity because the flue gases contain a significant amount of thermal and kinetic energy. the main goal of this research is to design and investigate a double walled thermal tower with variable canopy angles for burning refinery waste gases in order to generate electricity from the energy of the combustion gases. the new design includes a two-layer chimney, combustion chamber, canopy and flare. using commercial software, the effects of canopy, fuel flow rate, chimney height, layer spacing and the position of flares on electricity production were investigated. it was found that the average velocity changes non-uniformly with the change of the canopy angle and the gas density increases in the throat area.
