This study investigates the performance of micro-alloy steel of x52 used in the oil and gas industry. the corrosion properties of micro-alloy steel of x52 at different concentrations in corrosive sulfuric acid solutions were investigated. the effect of temperature was also investigated at different concentrations. the corrosion performance was measured by tafel polarization (potentiostat) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (eis), with the presence of a 2mbi inhibitor. the results of the impedance and polarization corrosion test showed that the inhibition efficiency increased with increasing the concentration of the 2mbi inhibitor. the highest inhibition efficiency for the micro-alloy steel of x52 was obtained in 1 m sulfuric acid solution at a concentration of 400 ppm and at ambient temperature. also, with increasing the concentration of 2mbi inhibitor, polarization resistance increased and the capacity of container decreased. the desirable inhibitory behavior is related to the molecules' absorption of the inhibitor and the formation of a protective layer on the metal surface. the increase in temperature changed the type of adsorption from physical to chemical and as a result, the high-temperature impedance results improved the polarization resistance.
