Onion seeds have a poor shelf life compared to other crops. loss of seed viability is accompanied by degradation of cellular components including dna, rna and proteins (yalamalle et al., 2020). abiotic stress may be caused by drought stress or salinity stress. in this research, the possibility of seed coating on improvement of embryo viability under drought stress in onion was studied. in this study, the embryo morphology was evaluated under various drought stress using image analysis. although the effect of stress conditions on the quality characteristics of seed characteristics such as the germination index is clear, however, changes in the appearance of embryos under the influence of these stresses have not yet been properly investigated. therefore, embryo morphology was evaluated using the image analysis (photographed with a stereo microscope using mosaic 2.1 software), it was investigated.
