چکیده    Rolling phenomena in wheel/rail contact can be substantially more intricate than those on the straight track. this thesis aimed to explore the effect of some track parameters on wheel/rail contact in the curved track to improve contact condition in curved track using a 3-d finite element model by employing anzr1 wheel and uic60 rail profiles. the study provides valuable insights into designing railway tracks for safe and efficient rail transportation by examining the effects of railpad parameters and ballast characteristics on wheel/rail contact forces and rail vertical displacement. the results indicate that railpad and ballast stiffness are the most crucial elements of the track and have a direct impact on the wheel/rail contact force and the vertical displacement of the rail. increasing the stiffness of the railpad and ballast led to a rise in contact force and a significant reduction in vertical rail displacement. additionally, the contact force slightly increased with an increase in ballast and railpad damping.
