Considering the decreasing fossil fuels and increasing demand for building cooling in order to improve residents comfort, finding an approachs in the building sector can be an effective event. this is because building energy consumption accounts for about 40%, so one of the solutions can be the use of sustainable buildings that create desirable thermal comfort and use less energy for cooling. in this research, we aimed to determine the most suitable geographical orientation in the hottest month of 2022 in tehran by designing a vertical forest residential building in order to increase residents comfort and reduce cooling load. this study was conducted using designbuilder software and the results showed that the best geographical orientation for reducing electricity use for cooling in a vertical forest building is the northwestern units.
