the role of academic associations in appraising and promoting assessment and quality assurance in higher education

Quality assurance is one of the policy sectors with the most diverse international, national, and institutional stakeholders. several recent and significant changes have occurred in the higher education sector in turkey, including the sector's growth with an increase in universities, a stronger interest in implementing national and international quality assurance systems, and the adoption of internationalization as a primary objective for education and research. globalization and international competitiveness bring quality issues to the forefront of many higher education systems. globalization and international competition bring the quality problem to the forefront of the agenda in many higher education systems. quality assurance is one of the fields formed by the interaction of many factors at the international, national, and institutional levels.quality assurance has recently taken center stage in the higher education systems of various nations, including turkey. the new higher education system approach outlined by the council of higher education includes mission distinction and variety, flexibility, and institutional autonomy, all of which call for a comprehensive overhaul of the current system.in this context, a new roadmap should be followed by establishing new policies, legal frameworks, and institutional structures. within the scope of quality assurance, the universities of turkey should take initiative to develop new strategy models suitable for their corporate culture within the framework of the (efqm) excellence model.the study presented attempts to give a clear basis for such high-quality, long-lasting, and mutually beneficial advances by providing insight into what has been accomplished thus far and what is likely to be feasible in the future.
