گردشگری، امروزه یکی از مسایل مهم و موثر اقتصادی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی است. توسعه اکوتوریسم به عنوان یکی از پر جاذبهترین انواع گردشگری علاوه بر پیامدهای اقتصادی، اجتماعی و فرهنگی، آثار محیط زیستی قابل توجهی نیز میتواند داشته باشد. این آثار در صورت عدم دقت نظر، عدم تدوین و انجام اقدامات پیشگیرانه در قالب راهبردها، استانداردها و ارزیابیهای مستمر، پیامدهای تخریبی بسیاری در محیطهای انسانی و طبیعی خواهند داشت و موجب ناپایداری محیطی و در نهایت ناپایداری اکوتوریسم خواهند شد. در عین حال اکوتوریسم میتواند به عنوان ابزاری مناسب در جهت توریسم پایدار نقش جهانی و یا محلی داشته باشد. علی‏رغم آن اکوتوریسم امروزه اغلب به درستی جهتدهی نشده و عمدتاً به گونهای تعریف شده است که عملا از استانداردهای بحث شده در این مقاله برای نیل و موفقیت در فرآیند پایداری فاصله دارد. به عنوان مثال، لزوم مشارکت مردم محلی و حفظ رضایت آنها در انجام فعالیتهای توریستی از الزامات موثر برای نیل به هدف توریسم پایدار است. همچنین سیاستهای توریسمی اتخاذ شده باید به کیفیت تجربهی بازدیدکننده و یکپارچگی محل توجه کنند و تنها به بازاریابی و تعداد بالای بازدیدکنندگان توجه نکنند. هدف از ارایهی مقالهی حاضر، توضیح، تفسیر و تفکیک مفاهیم مربوط به توریسم و اکوتوریسم و همچنین ارایه برخی از اصول و خط مشیهای الزامی جهت دستیابی به اکوتوریسم پایدار است.

today, tourism is one of the important and effective economic, social and cultural issues. the development of ecotourism as one of the most attractive types of tourism, in addition to economic, social and cultural consequences, can also have significant environmental effects. these works will have many destructive consequences in the human and natural environments, and will cause environmental instability and ultimately the instability of ecotourism, in case of lack of precision, lack of formulation and implementation of preventive measures in the form of strategies, standards and continuous evaluations. at the same time, ecotourism can have a global or local role as a suitable tool for sustainable tourism. despite that, today s ecotourism is often misdirected and mostly defined in a way that is far from the standards discussed in this article to achieve and succeed in the sustainability process. for example, the necessity of local people s participation and maintaining their satisfaction in carrying out tourist activities is one of the effective requirements to achieve the goal of sustainable tourism. also, the adopted tourism policies should pay attention to the quality of the visitor s experience and the integrity of the place and not only to marketing and the high number of visitors. the purpose of presenting this article is to explain, interpret and separate concepts related to tourism and ecotourism, as well as to present some principles and policies required to achieve sustainable ecotourism.
