عمارت و کاخ چهل ستون اصفهان، شاهکار هنر و معماری صفویه و یکی از آثار و بناهایی است که به فرمان شاه عباس صفوی ساخته شد. این تالار رنگارنگ مثل نگینی درخشان در دل باغی بزرگ قرار گرفته است و شکوه و جلال گذشته را فریاد می‌زند. عمارت چهل ستون با طراحی خاص و نقاشی های منحصربه‌فرد خود، اعجاب همه مسافران و گردشگران را برانگیخته است. دقت معماری این ساختمان، نشانی از تخصص، هوش و خِرَد سازندگان آن دارد. نقاشی های که در داخل کاخ وجود دارد، آمیخته ای از نقاشی های مینیاتوری چینی، مینیاتوری ایرانی و همچنین نقاشی های اروپایی که توسط دو و هنرمند هلندی، به نام های آنجل و لوکار به تصویر کشیده شده است. ترکیب هماهنگ و موزون این سه سبک نقاشی با خطوط و نقوش هندسی و تقارن ساختار کاخ، گچ بری ها، آیینه کاری ها و تزیینات چوبی فراوان در ابعاد و اندازه های بزرگ شکل گرفته، تاثیری پرقدرت و نیرومند بر بیننده می گذارد.
