چکیده
|
The phenomenon of global warming has had significant impacts on the earth s environmental parameters, making it crucial to investigate and estimate the changes that have occurred. lakes are an essential component of any region, and variations in their size and extent can significantly influence environmental conditions. to assess these changes, a comprehensive survey was conducted to measure the area of 12 prominent lakes across the globe over two one-year intervals. multispectral data acquired by the modis sensor was used to compute the normalized difference water index (ndwi), a well-established index in remote sensing that has been extensively applied for water resource management due to its ability to effectively discriminate liquid water from other materials based on their spectral reflectance characteristics. the analysis of the results revealed a substantial reduction in the area of lakes van, urumia, and superior while there was an increase in the area of lakes victoria, great bear, sarygamysh, qinghay, aydar, kariba, namucou, therthar, and issykul. also, we create an lst map for2022 and 2018 to emphasize on global warming this year. these findings provide valuable insights into the impact of global warming on the world s freshwater resources and underscore the need for effective measures to address this critical issue.
