چکیده    Additive manufacturing, or more commonly known as 3d printing, has been at the forefront of manufacturing research for the past couple of decades. one of the most used methods of 3d printing, called fused deposition modeling (fdm), and it was used to print the test specimens in this experiment. the consumables of these types of 3d printers are produced in the form of filament. acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene (abs) is a thermoplastic polymer and due to its various advantages, it is commonly used in 3d printing technology. despite all the desirable features of the abs in 3d printing, some disadvantages that exists in the final parts which were printed by its filaments, have limited their use. in this research we study the mechanical properties of abs and its blends with tpu and sbs with different percentages. 5 different percentages of abs and abs/tpu blend were prepared. after that, 0.5-2wt.% sbs (sample 6) was added to the optimum composition of abs/tpu blend to reach to the formulation that was the best in printability compared to other 5 formulations. according to the tensile test results, it was found that adding tpu to abs, in general will decrease the mechanical properties of products. but in the presence of sbs, the mechanical properties of the final composition improved, compared to abs/tpu compositions. as a result, sample number 6 with 70-80% abs, 20-30% tpu and 0.5-2% sbs is confirmed as the best sample in terms of balance between mechanical properties and printability.
