   advantage of topical therapy by new generation of nanoparticles

چکیده    Aim and background: topical therapy is a widely used approach for the treatment of various skin disorders as it provides targeted delivery of drugs to the affected site while minimizing side effects on other organs. however, the efficacy of topical therapy is often compromised due to inadequate drug penetration, poor bioavailability, and low patient compliance. the emergence of nanotechnology has revolutionized the field of topical therapy by enabling the development of new generation of nanoparticles that offer improved drug delivery and enhanced therapeutic effects. nanoparticles have unique properties such as small size, high surface area, and tunable surface charge that make them ideal candidates for drug delivery to the skin. additionally, nanoparticles can improve the solubility and stability of drug molecules, increase their bioavailability, and prolong their release, resulting in improved therapeutic outcomes. one of the most promising approaches in nanoparticle-based topical therapy is the use of lipid nanoparticles, including liposomes, solid lipid nanoparticles (slns), and nanostructured lipid carriers (nlcs).methods: this study is a review article that was written using recent articles on the role of nanoparticles in topical therapy.results and discussion: lipid nanoparticles can efficiently deliver drugs to the skin due to their biocompatibility, biodegradability, and ability to fuse with the skin layers. furthermore, lipid nanoparticles can be easily functionalized with targeting ligands, such as peptides and antibodies, to enhance their specificity and selectivity. this approach has the potential to overcome the limitations of conventional topical therapy, resulting in improved drug delivery, enhanced therapeutic effects, and improved patient compliance. conclusion: therefore, the development of new generation of nanoparticles for topical therapy should continue to be a focus area for research and development in the field of nanomedicine
