چکیده    Aim and background: one key quality of the ideal scaffold for tissue regeneration is structural and compositional similarity to the natural extracellular matrix (ecm). the ideal scaffold for tissue regeneration should resemble the natural extracellular matrix (ecm) in terms of both structure and composition i.e., chitosan (cs) and hyaluronic acid (ha). methods: using a dual-electrospinning technique, the nanofibers were electrospun on the collector at the same time. attenuated total reflectance fourier transform infrared (atr-ftir) spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis (tga) were used to demonstrate the presence of polymers, potential interactions, and polyelectrolyte complex formation. the noncomplex component of chitosan-gelatin/ chitosan-hyaluronic acid (cs-gel/cs-ha) fibers formed a gel state when the scaffold was exposed to the aqueous media. results and discussion the cs-gel/cs-ha scaffold showed significantly higher cell proliferation (109%) in the first 24 h compared control group. additionally, the initial cell adhesion improved by incorporation of cs-gel/cs-ha. cs-gel/cs-ha scaffold showed significant decrease in wound area compared to control after 3, 7, 10 and 14 days’ post treatment, nonetheless, the wound closure in cs-gel/cs-ha scaffold was significantly higher in comparison control. the inflammatory response was severing to moderate for control group while the cs-gel/cs-ha indicated mild inflammation. conclusion: the in-vivo wound healing results in rat elucidated more wound healing capability of the cs-gel/cs-ha scaffold in which new tissue with most similarity to the normal skin was formed.
