   research on the antifungal ability against candida albicans and cytotoxic evaluation of zinc (ii) schiff-base complex supported on fe3o4@sio2 nanoparticles

چکیده    Fungal infections are the leading cause of worldwide death annually, especially in patients suffering from compromised immune systems. candida albicans have becoming more resistance to current approved drugs since they make biofilm during their growth, which makes them more alternative and resistant. nano metal complexes have receive much attention since their high surface-to-volume ratio and nano sizes, which makes a context in which nanodrugs can penetrate to the membranes of fungi. schiff-base complexes of metal ions such as zn have been recently used as anti-fungal agents. in this research, we synthesized and characterized the fe3o4@sio2/schiff-base complex of zn (ii) and study the antifungal behavior against candida albicans using the microdilution approach. the identity of the fe3o4@sio2/schiff-base complex of zn (ii) will be verified by ft-ir, xrd, dls, tem, sem, edx, and tga. also, the mtt evaluation was done to verify the cytotoxicity of the zu (ii) nanoparticles. the results showed that the zn nps exhibited excellent antifungal behavior, for which the inhibition concentration was achieved 32 μg/ml, and showed no toxicity in the mtt test. as a result, zn nps supported on the fe3o4@sio2 nps would be a promising antifungal drugs in the future.
