چکیده    Aim and background: colorectal cancers are the third most common cancer in the world among the 10 million people diagnosed with cancer in 2022. gold nanoparticles are widely used especially in cancer research due to their ease of synthesis, adjustable size and shape, remarkable biocompatibility, and unique optical properties. methods: literature was reviewed and their findings were recapitulated.results and discussion: the use of folic acid conjugated silica with excellent red fluorescence optical properties, x-ray absorption, and the ability to target gastric cancer cells for both optical and ct imaging has been suggested, which has a potential for early detection of gastric cancer in vivo. with laser irradiation to auncs/bsa-np (gold nanoclusters loaded to bovine serum albumin nanoparticles), good light fluorescence imaging was performed in mice with hct116 tumor, while the temperature of colorectal cancer tumors rose to 50 °c, preventing tumor growth. kimm et al. demonstrated a monoclonal antibody to heat shock protein 70 (hsp70) conjugated to gnps as computed tomography (ct) contrast agent with significant imaging for targeting rat colon cancer cells even single-celled diagnosis. ana et al. showed that aunps could increase the quantification capacity of microrna 31 (mir-31), a new strategy for developing non-invasive tools for molecular detection and monitoring of colon cancer. conclusion: the number and variety of available reports on the biological activities of nanogold allows us to hope that in the future we will be able to develop effective methods of cancer therapy based on aunps.
