   fabrication and characterization of cellulose nano crystal (cnc) in tissue engineering

چکیده    Aim and background: in this way, cellulose is the greatest renewable natural source of organic materials. recently, the utilization of cellulose in environmentally friendly and biocompatible products has been increased. therefore, cellulose in form of nano crystal (cnc) are biodegradable, biocompatible and have excellent mechanical properties in tissue engineering. methods: in order to prepare cellulose nano crystal, at the first step, we prepared 100 ml sulfuric acid solution, then added cellulose powder. after one hour, the sediment was chosen to centrifuge. the centrifuge process contains of 5 min, 5000 rpm to set the ph around 7.results and discussion: the result exhibited that cnc size distributions have been measured by dls and it showed that the average size of nano particles is around 250 nm. sem images showed cellulose gel is composed of long, interconnected cellulose fibrils forming three-dimensional networks. the ftir spectra of the obtained cellulose nanocrystal were shown the new peak at 1205 cm−1 was resulted from the introduced sulfate groups by sulfuric acid hydrolysis.conclusion: cnc in the form of microfiber, nanofiber, and nanoparticle had unique properties including high elastic modulus, dimensional stability, outstanding reinforcement potential, crystallinity and transparency. therefore, they could consider as the option for composite improvement factor in scaffolds in tissue engineering field.
