چکیده    Background: recent studies have shown a rise in the production of nanoparticles and their uses. the chemical production of np could be dangerous. consequently, the behavioral activity and toxicity of copper nanoparticles (cunps) produced using chemical (ch-cunps) and green techniques (g-cunps) were examined in this work. methods: ch-cunps were synthesized by sodium borohydride as a reducing agent and polyethylene glycol as a stabilizing agent. g-cunps were made using curcumin, with no stabilizing or reducing agents. cunps nanoparticles synthesized by both methods were characterized and compared. to examine the neurobehavioral toxicity of cunps in mice, 35 mice were divided into seven equal groups (n = 5). the negative control group received intravenous (iv) distilled water, for 30 days. the treatment groups received one iv injection per week of each doses (5, 10, 25 mg/kg) of ch-cunps and g-cunps.at the end of the examination, each group was neurobehaviorally evaluated in comparison to other experimental animals, and after that brain tissue biomarkers were determined and pathological investigations were conducted. results and discussion: both methods yielded np with similar properties. however, g-cunps were smaller than ch-cunps and more monodisperse. the results showed that cunps induced neurobehavioral and histopathological alterations; and enhanced oxidant and antioxidant markers. all g-cunps groups evidently had less neurotoxicity than ch-cunps, and only in 25 mg/kg g-cunps group significant changes were observed. conclusion: the g-cunps evidently had less behavioral and neurotoxicity than ch-cunps via its antioxidant protection properties.
