در این مقاله سعی بر این است که مسائل زیست محیطی و تاثیر صنایع در تغییرات اکولوژیکی با توجه به مدیریت پسماند مورد بررسی قرار گیرد. البته محدود کردن رشد آلودگی در محیط زیست بحث گسترده تری را می طلبد. منظور از توسعه صنعتی مطلوب و منطبق با محیط زیست، یافتن راه حل مشخصی برای ورود به این حیطه است و اجرایی ساختن توصیه ها منوط به کارگیری تکنولوژی نوینی است که به تکنولوژی تولید تمیزتر بر پایه مدیریت پسماندمعروف گشته است. که در اینجا موضوع اصلی بحث خواهد بود و ابزارها و روشهایی برای تعیین فرصتهای بکارگیری این تکنولوژی معرفی خواهد گردید.که عمده این ابزارها عبارتند از: ممیزی کاهش زباله و ضایعات، ممیزی اثرات تخریبی صنعت بر محیط زیست، تجزیه و تحلیل عمر مفید محصول تولیدی و تجزیه و تحلیل تاثیرات اکولوژیکی.
