گیاه دارویی گل‌محمدی (rosa damascene) در فضای سبز

کشور ایران به لحاظ شرایط مناسب اقلیمی و تنوع آب و هوائی، دارای پتانسیل بالائی در تولید دارویی است. جهت ایجاد فضای سبز، اصلاح و احیاء مراتع بیابانی و کویری و جهت احیاء مراتع کوهستانی و نیمه استپی می توان از گل محمدی به تنهایی و یا بصورت مخلوط با سایر گونه های دیم انجام گردد. گل‌محمدی با نام علمی (rosa damascena) نام نوعی گل رز است، از شاخص‌ترین صفاتی که در گل محمدی می‌توان ذکر کرد، بقاء و سازگاری این گیاه به خشکی است، که در طول سال فقط 2 تا 3 بار و بعضاً مناطقی که اصلاً آبیاری انجام نمی‌‌شود و به تجربه ثابت شده در مناطقی که بارندگی از 250 میلی‌متر بیشتر باشد، کشت دیم آن امکان پذیر است.گرچه به طور مسلم کاهش عملکرد اقتصادی در آن مشاهده می شود. این گیاه در هر ارتفاعی قابل کشت بوده و برای کاشت در فضای سبز در اکثر مناطق کشور، گل محمدی گیاه مناسبی بنظر می‌رسد و یکی از گیاهانی است که به لحاظ داشتن کاربردهای چندگانه تزئینی، دارویی و بهداشتی، دارای ارزش و جایگاهی ویژه‌ای برای تجارت جهانی است. گونه ایرانی این گل در دنیا منحصر به ‌فرد است. این گیاه بسیار مقاوم به شرایط محیطی بوده و اکثر شرایط آب و هوائی را به‌ خوبی تحمل می‌کند و با توجه به بروز خشکسالی‌های مستمر و بحران آب در مناطق خشک و نیمه‌خشک کشور و ارزش اقتصادی بالای محصول گل محمدی و اهمیت روزافزون فضای سبز در ایران از سوی دیگر، کاشت گل محمدی بمنظور ایجاد فضای سبز ضروری به نظر می‌رسد.
