چکیده    Adaptive cruise control (acc) system is a commercially available technology that dynamically adjusts vehicle speed to obtain desired behaviour. one of the central challengs in this system is the spacing policy which determines optimal distance that an acc system maintains from the next vehicle, while achives other performance criteria. to solve this problem, a novel scheme is developed here with the purpose of keeping a safe distance and improving the traffic flow efficiency. to attain both of the mentioned aims at the same time, a hybrid acc system is designed using the combination of constant safety factor (csf) and human driving behavior (hdb) spacing methods. the simulation results verify the safety and improvement of the traffic stability.
