the role of digital transformation in the psychology of the work environment and team morale

there is evidence that workplace spirituality has positive effects on work outcomes, and there are various models for conceptualizing the construct. to date, there is no debate about how digitization affects workplace spirituality and vice versa. the present review attempts to bridge this gap by discussing psychological dynamics in the light of digitalization and spirituality at work. this is a conceptual discussion based on an extensive narrative review. the conceptual design is further tested with a real case study.the result is a model that may guide future research that includes four highly interrelated domains, namely psychology (with dimensions of affect, cognition, and behavior), digitalization (with dimensions of platforms, data, and algorithms), spirituality ( with dimensions). dimensions of meaning, self-exaltation and belonging) as well as the workplace (with the dimensions of work duties, place, community and culture and values). this discussion includes implications for the future of work, suggestions for managerial decisions, and potential directions for future research.to date, there are many discussions about digital transformation and a limited number of them have invested in analyzing the psychological dimensions. applications of spirituality and the workplace—especially when the two are combined—are almost entirely absent, making the present discussion both novel and novel.
