چکیده    Canine viral diseases, such as canine distemper virus (cdv) and canine parvovirus (cpv), pose significant threats to canine health worldwide. the cellular immune response plays a critical role in the defense against these viral pathogens. this study investigates the cellular immune mechanisms in dogs infected with cdv and cpv, focusing on the activation and function of t lymphocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. peripheral blood mononuclear cells (pbmcs) were isolated from infected dogs and analyzed using flow cytometry, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (elisa), and quantitative pcr to determine the expression levels of key cytokines and surface markers. results indicate a marked increase in cd8+ cytotoxic t lymphocytes and cd4+ helper t cells, essential for the clearance of viral infections. additionally, there was a significant elevation in the production of interferon-gamma (ifn-γ) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (tnf-α), cytokines pivotal in antiviral responses. macrophages and dendritic cells displayed heightened phagocytic activity and increased expression of major histocompatibility complex (mhc) class ii molecules, enhancing antigen presentation and subsequent t cell activation. notably, the immunopathogenesis of cdv and cpv includes an initial suppression of the immune response, followed by a robust activation phase to control viral replication and spread. these findings underscore the complexity of the immune response against canine viral diseases, highlighting the importance of cellular immunity in mediating protection and shaping the course of infection. understanding these mechanisms provides insights for developing targeted immunotherapies and improving vaccine strategies to effectively enhance canine health and combat viral outbreaks.
