چکیده    Mammary neoplasia is frequently occurring in dogs. studies have reported different malignancy rates for the tumor in dogs. effective cancer management is an intersection of diagnostic, prognostic, and treatment procedures, including a range of molecular and immunologic assays. inflammation has been introduced to cooperate in tumor growth, evasion, and resisting therapy. the current research stained 27 samples of canine mammary gland neoplasms with the h&e method. then histologic type and grade were evaluated according to the goldschmidt et al. and pẽna method. immunohistochemical staining of cytokeratin 5/6 and e1/e3 was used for definitive diagnosis of several tumors. toluidine blue, von kossa, alcian blue-pas, and crystal violet special stainings were used to detect mastocytic reaction, areas of calcium salts deposition, keratin pearls, and amyloid deposition. 24 tumors (88.88%) were malignant and 3 (11.11%) benign. 18 tumors were infiltrated with inflammatory cells. all tumors showed local and/or vascular invasion. the population of inflammatory reaction was polymorphonuclear and mononuclear: lymphocytes, mastocytes, plasma cells, and neutrophils. inflammatory infiltrations were located peripheral to the tubular arrangement of neoplastic epithelial cell, peritumoral, perivascular, and intermingled with neoplastic epithelial cells. one of the tumors was positively stained with a toluidine blue stain and three tumors were positive for von kossa. the current study aimed to investigate inflammatory reactions in canine neoplastic mammary gland tumors and their association with malignancy grade and histologic characteristics of neoplasms. in the current study, despite finding some evidence of the relationship between inflammatory reaction and invasive growth of the tumors, a definite correlation hasn’t statically proved.
