چکیده    Interleukins (ils), a group of cytokines produced by various immune cells, play a crucial role in orchestrating the immune response to viral reproductive diseases in cattle. these diseases, including bovine viral diarrhea virus (bvdv) and infectious bovine rhinotracheitis (ibr), can lead to significant reproductive losses, such as infertility, abortions, and congenital defects. understanding the complex interactions between interleukins and these viral pathogens is essential for developing effective prevention and treatment strategies. upon infection, the host s immune system rapidly responds by releasing interleukins, which serve as key signaling molecules that regulate the immune response. interleukin-1 (il-1) and interleukin-6 (il-6) are among the first to be released, promoting inflammation and activating acute-phase responses to contain the infection. il-12 and il-18 are critical in driving the differentiation of naïve t cells into th1 cells, which produce interferon-gamma (ifn-γ), enhancing the ability of macrophages to destroy infected cells. bvdv and ibr can manipulate the host immune response by altering interleukin production. bvdv, for example, can suppress il-2 production, impairing t-cell proliferation and leading to immunosuppression. conversely, ibr infection can induce excessive il-10 production, which dampens the immune response by inhibiting pro-inflammatory cytokines and promoting viral persistence. this modulation of interleukin activity allows these viruses to evade the immune system and establish chronic infections. vaccination strategies aim to enhance the protective interleukin response while minimizing the virus-induced immunosuppressive effects. by promoting a balanced production of interleukins that support robust immune responses, vaccines can improve the clearance of these viruses and reduce the incidence of reproductive failures in cattle. further research into interleukin interactions with viral pathogens will provide deeper insights into the immune mechanisms governing reproductive bovine diseases and inform the development of more effective therapeutic and preventive measures.
