Viral hemorrhagic septicemia is considered one of the most dangerous diseases in the salmonidae family, and can result in significant losses in rainbow trout farms. the disease is caused by a virus belonging to the rhabdoviridae family and the novirhabdovirus genus. vhs manifests in three forms: acute, chronic, and neurological, each displaying various clinical and pathological symptoms؛ however, hemorrhage is the most prevalent symptom. given iran s prominent role in rainbow trout production, swift action is essential to diagnose and control the disease and prevent its further spread. with rainbow trout being the most susceptible species, vhsv can cause substantial financial losses. this study involved multiplying the virus using an epc cell line, isolating it, and identifying the n gene responsible for viral hemorrhagic septicemia. the rt-pcr products were cloned into the ptz vector, and real-time pcr was performed. based on these findings, the designed primers and probes identified the n gene as the causative agent of the disease.
