the effect of aspergillus fumigates and mortirella secondary metabolites isolated from large animal feed on staphylococcus aureus (atcc 13813)

Fungi produce many metabolites with different functions and properties. this study aims to find new drugs by investigating the effect of aspergillus fumigatus and mortirella fungal secondary metabolites on staphylococcus aureus. samples were taken from the diet of large animals randomly because of their common rarity in the environment. and two species of aspergillus fumigatus and mortirella were isolated and identified. then the secondary metabolites of these molds were prepared in the sabouraud dextrose broth culture. finally, the effect of these metabolites on staphylococcus aureus was determined through mic and mbc tests, as well as through the agar disk diffusion and agar well diffusion method by determining the diameter of the halo. the mic value of mortirella’s metabolite is 62.5 μl/ml and aspergillus fumigatus is 125 μl/ml, and the mbc value for mortirella is 125 μl/ml and aspergillus fumigatus is 250 μl/ml. in the disc diffusion method, metabolites of mortirella with 145, 125, 105 μl/ml, respectively, halos with a diameter of 12, 11, 9 mm, and aspergillus fumigatus with the amount of 270, 250, 230 μl/ml, respectively, halos with a diameter of 9, 8, 8 mm also in agar well diffusion method of mortirella metabolites in 155,145,135,125 μl/ml, respectively, halos of lack of growth with a diameter of 14,13,11,11 mm and metabolite of aspergillus fumigatus with 280, 270, 260, 250 μl/ml, respectively, halos of lack of growth with a diameter of 11, 10, 7, 7 mm around them. the metabolites of aspergillus fumigatus and mortirella were able to inhibit the growth of staphylococcus aureus with different concentrations.
