چکیده    According to the who, over 15% of global cancer cases are linked to infections. additionally, cancers caused by viral infections appear to be more prevalent than those without viral origins. recent studies have found residual of ancient viruses or human endogenous retroviruses (herv) as significant components of the human genome. although the exact role of these viral elements is not yet fully understood, evidence suggests that their activation may disrupt regulatory pathways, contributing to uncontrolled cell growth and tumor development. infection-related cancer can be examined both in terms of causality and as a factor that predisposes or accelerates cancer initiation. this presentation will explore the known viruses implicated in cancer development. moreover, the mechanisms by which these viruses interact with and disrupt the host genome will be analyzed.
