چکیده    The microbiota, comprising trillions of microorganisms primarily inhabiting the gut, plays an essential role in human health and disease. most immune cells are located in the gut, leading to a complex interaction between the intestinal microbiota and the local mucosal immune system. additionally, a diverse and balanced microbiome is crucial for systemic immunity, as microbial metabolites such as short-chain fatty acids, tryptophan metabolites, and bile acid derivatives exhibit immunoprotective properties that can influence the susceptibility, and clearance of infectious diseases. the microbiome influences metabolism and is associated with conditions like obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. dysbiosis, or alterations in the microbiome, is connected to gastrointestinal disorders such as inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and colorectal cancer. the gut-brain axis illustrates how gut microbiota can impact neurological health, as dysbiosis linked to conditions like depression, anxiety, and neurodegenerative diseases, while the metabolites produced by gut bacteria can affect brain function and behavior. additionally, the microbiome may contribute to cancer development and progression, as certain bacterial species can impact inflammation and immune responses, potentially influencing tumor growth and metastasis. probiotics and fecal microbiota transplants offer effective strategies for preventing and treating gut microbiome dysbiosis. interventions aimed at the gut microbiome could be essential for future treatments of dysbiosis-related diseases, providing a promising alternative to traditional pharmaceuticals. the gut microbiome is dynamic, continuously adapting to its host s environment and lifestyle, which necessitates ongoing efforts for stabilization. additionally, formulating an optimal mix of microbes to maintain homeostasis can be difficult. while some gut microbiome components remain stable and are linked to normal health, a universal standard microbiome is unlikely due to significant individual variations among people worldwide. as a result, this therapeutic approach may require customization to address specific diseases and the unique characteristics of both the host and their microbiome.
