تبعیض نژادی در ایالات متحده، یک بررسی میدانی

شورش ‌های سال 2020 در شهرهای مختلف آمریکا و تظاهرات مختلف ضد نژادپرستی در این کشور یک‌بار دیگر توجه همگان را به مسئله نژادپرستی در آمریکا و ریشه‌های عمیق آن جلب کرد. با وجود تغییرات جدی که در دهه‌های اخیر در کشور آمریکا به وجود آمده، پژوهش‌ها نشان می‌دهند که هنوز هم نژادپرستی یکی از مشکلات عمیق در جامعه آمریکاست. «نژاد» تا سالیان دراز یکی از مسائل مهم در کشور آمریکا خواهد بود و هر تلاشی برای نشان دادن این‌ که در جامعه آمریکا دیگر «نژاد» یک مسئله مهم نیست، خود نشان‌دهنده اهمیت نژاد در این جامعه است. مطالعه حاضر بر روی داده‌های یکی از پیمایش‌های سراسری موسسه پیو در ایالات متحده انجام شده و با جدا کردن پاسخگویان سیاه و سفید، تلاش کرده وضعیت و ادراک آن‌ها از مشکلات خود و مسائل دیگر در جامعه آمریکا را بررسی و مقایسه کند. یافته‌های این پژوهش نشان می‌دهد شکاف نژادی در جامعه آمریکا منحصر به برخورد پلیس یا مسائل اقتصادی نیست و طیف بسیار گسترده‌تری از مسائل و مشکلات را در برمی‌گیرد.

racist discrimination in the us: a field study

riots of 2020 in many american cities and demonstrations and protests by anti-racist groups in this country once again drew public attention to the issue of racism in the us and its deep roots. despite considerable changes in the recent decades, research shows that the us still suffers from racism, and race is still the source of deep problems in us society. “race” will continue to be the source of social problems in the us for many years to come and any endeavor to show that america no longer suffers from racism tells us that race still matters. the present study draws on the data from a recent pew study in the us, and after separating black and white respondents, compares perceptions of these two groups on different issues. findings indicated that the race gap in the us is not limited to police misbehavior or economic equality and encompasses many other issues.
