«فرهنگ رستگاری‌بخش ادبی» بدیل «فرهنگ رستگاری‌بخش فلسفی» (طرح دفاعیه رورتی از فرهنگ خود)

رورتی با به‌چالش کشیدن فلسفه سنتی غرب، که به‌عقیده او باعث دوگانه‌انگاری‌های مختلف بی‌فایده نظری در طول تاریخ فلسفه شده است، درصدد است در بستر «فرهنگ رستگاری‌بخش ادبی» به ساختارشکنی مسائل مختلف فلسفه و رفع این دوگانه‌انگاری‌ها مبادرت ورزد. او با ایجاد خط انشقاق میان حوزه خصوصی و حوزه عمومی، می‌خواهد سهم و دخالت فیلسوفان را در ارائه دیدگاههای نظری و فلسفی مشخص کند و مدعی است حوزه سیاست نیازی به آن ندارد که مبانی خود را از معیارهای فردی حوزه خصوصی کسب نماید؛ چیزی که زمینه بلندپروازی‌های متافیزیکی فیلسوفان را فراهم می‌آورد. گویی رورتی با تقلیل فلسفه به ادبیات، می‌خواهد مانع بلندپروازی‌ها و دخالت‌های فیلسوفان به‌واسطه نظریه‌پردازی شود. درواقع، او با تفکیک بین دو حوزه خصوصی و عمومی یا سیاست، معتقد است ابزار فیلسوف، تخیل و حوزه فکری وی، فرهنگ ادبی و جایگاه او، حوزه خصوصی است. در این مقاله تلاش خواهیم کرد ضمن ارائه توصیفی از آرمان‌شهر رورتی، ادعاهای وی را از زوایای مختلف مورد تحلیل و بررسی قرار دهیم.
