   the duty cycle effect on the wear resistance of ni-co-w/sic composite coatings on aluminum 6061

چکیده    In this paper, ni-co-w/sic nanocomposite coatings were deposited on the aluminum layer of alloy 6061 using pulsed electrodeposition in a bath containing 5 grams per liter of sic. duty cycle (20%, 40% and 60%) impacts were examined on a wear resistance of these coatings. in order to investigate the wear behavior of these coatings; a pin wear test was implemented on the disc. the morphology of the surface of nanocomposites was also investigated by a scanning electron microscope (sem). the results showed that in different duty cycles, although the morphology of all coatings was completely spherical, the amount of sic amplifying particles increased as the duty cycle decreased. additionally, the study discovered that the maximum coefficient of friction was recorded during the 60% duty cycle, at 0.215, and the lowest coefficient of friction happened at the 20% duty cycle, at 0.125. the observed results showed that the weight loss of sample in the wear test was also 20% duty cycle equivalent to 0.4 mg and 60% duty cycle equivalent to 1 mg. as a conclusion, the results of the abrasion test in this coating showed that the wear resistance decreases as the duty cycle increases.
