چکیده    Dissolved oxygen- magnesium seawater batteries have outstanding advantages such as very high energy density, long-term storage, no long-term maintenance considerations, easy operation, and low production cost. the potential, energy density and efficiency of these batteries are highly dependent on the composition of mg alloy anode and its microstructure. magnesium has sufficiently negative standard potential, high capacity (2205 mah/g) and low density (1.74 g/cm3). despite these advantages, the anode has limitations such as high corrosion rate, poor anodic efficiency, and consequently inadequate discharge performance in long-term applications. one of the magnesium alloys that can operate well as the anode in these batteries is the az63-1.5la-0.5in alloy. despite the favorable corrosion resistance of the alloy, there has been no research on its use in dissolved oxygen- magnesium seawater batteries. in this regard, the corrosion performance of as-cast az63-1.5la-0.5in alloy has been discussed. it has been observed that the addition of indium element to az63-1.5la alloy refines the structure and grain size of the alloy. the addition of indium has led to shifting the corrosion potential to more negative values and reducing the corrosion current. the anodic efficiency of the alloys is 67% for the alloy. the results show that az63-1.5la-0.5in alloy is a suitable choice for use as anode in dissolved oxygen- magnesium seawater batteries.
