In the realm of modern energy systems, the effective integration and optimization of distributed generation resources and energy storage units within large-scale virtual power plants (vpps) play a pivotal role in ensuring grid reliability and efficiency. this study focuses on the intricate task of optimizing the planning and management of these resources in the context of a large-scale vpp while addressing the critical issue of load shedding. the research employs robust mathematical modeling and advanced optimization techniques to devise a framework for day-ahead production scheduling within the vpp. key considerations encompass not only the strategic allocation of generation and storage capacities but also the mitigation of load shedding scenarios, a vital aspect in maintaining grid stability. through comprehensive scenario-based analyses and probabilistic programming, the study explores various load shedding contingencies, elucidating the potential impact on the vpp s operation. the proposed model not only offers solutions to minimize load shedding but also maximizes the daily integrated profit, balancing the economic aspect of energy generation.
