|
Climate change stands as one of the most significant challenges facing human society today, with a substantial portion attributed to the energy sector. one approach to carbon reduction in this sector involves the utilization of clean energy carriers, such as hydrogen, known for its high energy density. due to its substantial potential in gas resources, iran can play a pivotal role in the future supply of hydrogen. this paper investigates the power generation system using hydrogen fuel in iran. initially, the levelized cost of hydrogen (lcoh) is evaluated, considering iran s capacities for various methods, including pyrolysis, electrolysis, and reforming. in the subsequent section, the gas turbine power plant with hydrogen fuel is thermodynamically simulated and according to the technical and economic results, the levelized cost of electricity (lcoe) and other economic parameters are calculated under different scenarios, including carbon credits and electricity selling tariffs. finally, based on the results, a comparison is made between the scenarios, and by analyses and suggestions, a conclusion is made to adopt the appropriate solutions.
