چکیده    The automotive axle shaft plays a pivotal role in the drivetrain by transferring torque from the differential to the wheels, subjecting it to substantial mechanical stresses. material selection profoundly influences vehicle performance and durability. this study employs finite element analysis to model an automotive axle shaft, incorporating aisi 4140 steel (oil quenched, 650°c temper) and aisi e4340 steel (quenched 845°c, 315°c temper) under a 1000 n.m moment load. results reveal that both materials exhibit commendable fatigue resistance under heavy loading conditions. the study contributes valuable insights into material selection for automotive components, thereby enhancing overall vehicle performance and safety standards.
