A hot rolled-annealed zk60 mg alloy was deformed by 1 pass dual equal channel lateral extrusion (decle) process. the coarse grain structure of 68 μm in the rolled sample was changed to a fine grain structure with a size of 2 μm distributed around coarse grains of 20–80 μm. shear punch testing results indicated that decle increased the strength from 227.6 mpa to 237.3 mpa due to the fine grains and presence of second phase particles at the grain boundaries. however, the bimodal structure and presence of coarse second phase particles after 1 pass decle accelerated the galvanic corrosion mechanism and decreased the corrosion resistance.
