مطالعه‌ی تحلیلی- توصیفی از رُمان مردم جولای نوشته‌ی نادین گوردیمر از دیدگاه هومی بابا و آنتونیو گرامشی

مطالعات پسااستعماری مجموعه‌ای از ره‌یافت‌های نظری است که، با تاکید بر پیامدهای استعمارگرایی، به تحلیل گفتمان استعماری می‌پردازد. نادین گوردیمر، نویسنده و فعال سیاسی سرشناس آفریقای جنوبی در رُمان آینده‌نگر مردم جولای به واکاوی تضاد میان سفیدها و سیاه‌ها پرداخته، و به این سوال پاسخ می‌دهد که چه اتفاقی می‌افتد وقتی یک طرف به لحاظ نژادی و فرهنگی خود را برتر از دیگری می‌پندارد. وی تصویری تخیلی از دوره‌ی گذار را در تاریخ استعماری آفریقای جنوبی ترسیم می‌کند که در آن جایگاه و نقش خانواده‌ی سفیدپوست اِسملز با خدمتکار سیاه‌پوست‌شان جابجا می‌شود. با استفاده از مفاهیم کلیدی پسااستعماری، به ویژه نظرات هومی بابا و آنتونیو گرامشی در مقوله‌های مکان، جا به جایی، هیبریداسیون، هژمونی و فرهنگ پذیری، و با روشی توصیفی-تحلیلی، پژوهش  حاضر  به واکاوی پیامدهای تغییر روابط قدرت میان استعمارگر و استعمار شده، به ویژه جنبه‌های هویتی آنها، در داستان می‌پردازد. گوردیمر با رویکردی ساختارشکنانه و با تاکید بر ماهیت نسبی  و ناپایدارِ روابط قدرت، خاطرنشان می‌کند که به خاطر امکان همزیستی مسالمت‌آمیز در دوران پساآپارتاید ضرورت دارد که طرف استعمارگر در مفروضات اقتصادی، ایدئولوژیکی، نژادی و فرهنگی خود عمیقا تجدید نظر نماید.
