بررسی واکاوی عنصر غافلگیری در آثار اُ.هنری و محمدعلی جمال زاده

غافلگیری یا همان پیچش ناگهانی در داستان یکی از عناصر مهم در پیرنگ و طرح داستان است. اُ.هنری، از بزرگترین نویسندگان داستان کوتاه جهان، به دلیل استفاده از لطافت طبع، بازی با واژه ها، شخصیت پردازی و پایان غافلگیرانه و هوشمندانه در انتهای داستان‌هایش مشهور است. در مقابل، جمال‌زاده نیز از نویسندگان پیشتاز در ادبیات داستانی معاصر است که با همین عنصر برخی از داستان هایش را به پایان رسانیده است. در این پژوهش با روش تحلیلی- توصیفی به بررسی غافلگیری و وجوه اشتراک و افتراق این عنصر در داستان های کوتاه اُ.هنری و جمال‌زاده پرداخته شده است. مطالعۀ موردی در این جستار سه داستان کوتاه از اُ.هنری (پلیس و سرود کلیسا، پاندول و آخرین برگ) و سه داستان کوتاه از محمدعلی جمال‌زاده (کباب غاز، پاشنه کش و دوستی خاله خرسه) است. یافته های پژوهش نشان می دهد عنصر غافلگیری در آثار هر دو نویسنده بارز است با این تفاوت که غافلگیری در داستان های اُ.هنری از لحاظ روابط علت و معلولی قوی تر از آثار جمال‌زاده است و همین امر باعث ایجاد پیرنگ های قدرتمندتری در داستان های وی شده است.

surprise or sudden twist in a narrative is one of the crucial elements in storytelling. o. henry, one of the greatest short story writers of all time, is renowned for his use of wit, wordplay, character depiction, and the clever and unexpected endings of his stories. similarly, jamalzadeh is a leading figure in contemporary literary fiction who has concluded some of his stories with this very element. this research employs an analytical-descriptive method to examine the surprise element and the commonalities and differences in its usage in the short stories of o. henry and jamalzadeh. the case study in this article includes three short stories by o. henry (the cop and the anthem, the pendulum, and the last leaf) and three short stories by mohammad ali jamalzadeh (the goose kebab, heel puller, and aunt bear's friendship). the findings of the research indicate that the surprise element is prominent in the works of both authors, with the difference that in o. henry's stories, surprise is stronger in terms of cause-and-effect relationships, leading to more powerful twists in his narratives .
