چکیده    Silver nanoparticles of ziziphus leaves and stems extract were synthesized and were characterized by fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (ft-ir), sem, and tem. ftir spectra confirmed the presence of ag-o bonding are shown by bands appeared at 533 and 513 cm-1, for leaves and stems, respectively. the sem analysis confirmed spherical and uniform ag nanoparticles. the tem images indicated sizes of nanoparticles between 5.77-24 nm. the antibacterial and anticancer studies of the ziziphus leaves and stems extract silver nanoparticles were also determined. the anti-bacterial studies showed the effect nanoparticles gave more effective on e.coli (negative gram) bacteria comparing to staphylococcus (positive gram). for ziziphus leaf extract showed inhibition zones, with the highest inhibition zone of 5 mm observed at concentration 50 for both types of bacteria. the ziziphus stem extract gave high mic values of (9 mm) at (75 %) for both e. coli and gram-positive staphylococcus bacteria. human liver (hepg2), lung cancer (a549), and breast cancer (mcf7) cell lines were used to investigate the plant extract’s cytotoxicity at several concentrations (7.81, 15.62, 32.25, 62.5, 125, and 250 μg/ml). the order of values of ic50 on the selected cell lines for ziziphus stems: hegp2(11.26 μg/ml)> a549(16.86 μg/ml) > mcf7 (19.54 μg/ml), for ziziphus leaves a549 (26.2 μg/ml)>mcf7(37.85 μg/ml)> hegp2 (46.54 μg/ml).
