تصویرشناسی در ادبیات تطبیقی: شناخت خود از نگاه دیگری

آنچه در این مقاله می آید نگاهی به تصویرشناسی در ادبیات تطبیقی است. نگارنده، پس از مقدمه ای کوتاه از سابقه تصویرشناسی در فرانسه، به تعریف و انواع آن می پردازد. تصویرشناسی یکی از مباحث مهم و ریشه ای در ادبیات تطبیقی است چرا که بنای ادبیات تطبیقی در فرانسه بر آن نهاده شده است و تاثیر و تاثر که آغاز نگاه فرانسوی ها به ادبیات خارجی است در گرو شناخت تصویری از دیگری است. قسمت مهمی از این شناخت متعلق به فرهنگ « ناظر » است که چگونه به تصویر دیگری می نگرد و در این نگاه، فرهنگی را که در آن زیسته است، دخیل می کند. این جستار به معرفی تصویرهای اگزوتیک و کلیشه هایی که در ادبیات از خلال نگاه دیگری به وجود آمده است، و در پایان با بررسی چند سفرنامه، به تبیین چگونگیپژوهش در سفرنامه ها در حوزۀ ادبیات تطبیقی می پردازد و با تحلیل و نقدِ نمونه ها بر این امر تاکید می کند که هر پژوهشی که در آن مقایسۀ تصویر صورت بگیرد، لزوماً در حوزه ادبیات تطبیقی نمی گنجد. این بررسی نشان می دهد که در ایران، تصویرشناسی، به ویژه مطالعات سفرنامه، گاه، به کج راهه رفته است.

the present paper examines imagology in comparative literature. imagology is one of the most important and rooted areas in comparative literature since it is thefoundation of comparative literature in france. impression and influence whichform the beginning of the french views of foreign literature depend on the pictorialknowledge of the other. an important part of this knowledge belongs to the cultureof the “observer” and the ways in which he or she looks at another’s image and inthis view involves the culture in which he or she has inhabited. thus, the presentpaper deals with the exotic images and literary stereotypes that have been createdthrough the perspective of another. in the end, the paper draws on research on travelwriting in the field of comparative literature by analyzing several travelogues. thepaper will demonstrate that, at times, there has been misunderstandings about thesubject in iran. by analyzing and critiquing these examples, we emphasize thatnot every research in which there is a comparing of images belongs in the field ofcomparative literature
